"Ronald" is an exploration of introspection and the weight of self-awareness. In this piece, I wanted to convey a quiet, meditative moment where a figure is both looking inward and presenting their vulnerability outward. Their posture—crouched, hands framing their face—suggests contemplation or even weariness, while their gaze meets the viewer’s, challenging them to confront their own emotions mirrored in their expression.
The shimmering gold cloak draped over them hints at a sense of regality or importance, though it contrasts with the melancholic mood of the figure. This duality represents the tension between the external expectations placed upon us and the internal struggles we often face in silence.

The circles of light above their head serve as a subtle halo, symbolizing enlightenment, but not in a divine sense—more so as a marker of self-realization and the burdens it carries.
Set against a muted, almost ethereal backdrop, the figure appears to be submerged or grounded in a place of reflection, surrounded by stones and soft, rippling water. This environment amplifies the sense of isolation, reinforcing the idea that moments of deep self-awareness can feel both isolating and transformative.
Through "Ronald," I sought to capture the beauty and discomfort of self-reflection, creating a space where the viewer can pause, confront their own thoughts, and perhaps find solace in shared human vulnerability.
